STORYBOARD

Image
I have completed a storyboard so I have something to follow when making other documents such as my shot list and script. It also helped me visualise my idea and see if it works as a narrative

FILM CONVENTIONS

Image
I completed this to explore the codes and conventions of the genre I'll be following. This helped me generate ideas and include elements in my film to ensure it was conventional of the genre.

BUDGET

Image
By producing this, I now have a clear way of seeing how much each part of my production will cost. This will help me with organisation especially when booking equipment, hotels, travelling and catering. This has also allowed me to make an estimated cost on how much my production cost in total.

FINANCE

Image
Before deciding how I was going to finance my production, I explored my different options with the pros and cons of each. By making a table, I have a clear layout of the advantages and disadvantages of each, so I can quickly rule out the financial options I don't think are suitable for me. This makes the process faster so I can proceed with other pre-production activities as soon as possible. I would choose self-funding, as I like the idea of knowing where my money has come from and having full control of how to spend the money. Also, I don't have to worry about having to pay the money back.

PITCH

Image
While doing my pitch, I considered what would entice my audience and give them an idea of my desired result for my film. I began with a logline which straight away gave them an idea of the genre and a very brief plot for the beginning of the film. I then informed them of my target audience, the genre, the structure I want to follow, and a slightly more detailed overview of the film. I then spoke about different shot types I'll be using in the opening scene and what affects the use of these shot types will have on the representation of the characters. By creating this, I have now got a passive document ready to use for future pitches for my film.

TREATMENT

Image
I produced a treatment for my short film to present my idea before drafting my first script. This way, any producers can look over my film plan- they can get an insight into my character's personalities as well as the plot, so they can see how my different characters fit into the plot.
